How long can I store oats?

If stored properly in unopened packaging, they could likely be stored for 12 – 18 months for best quality. After that time, they are still safe to consume, but may not have the best “flavor” (i.e. stale). Once opened, to prolong shelf life, they should be transferred to an airtight container.
